My Mother, My Abuser

Enjeux

"Being abused by a woman is somehow different and I think particularly with your mother. You’re born and the first person you look to is your mother, your mother should feed you, your mother should look after you. So when that’s twisted, you’re twisted."
- Eleonor

Since the beginning of time, the mother has always been the person children turn to for comfort and compassion. With this programme, we cautiously lift the veil on sexual abuse by women, most often the mother.

We chose to break this taboo to shed some light on what is obviously a behaviour as hard to understand as it is to name.

Incestuous mother, woman pedophile? These words are as difficult to say as they are to hear.

Victims of maternal incest, men and women now adults, tell us the tale of their nightmarish childhood and how challenging it was to find someone to listen and understand what they went through.
