FIDEL CASTRO'S REIGN, FROM EVERY ANGLE
A documentary on the dreams and disillusionment created by Fidel Castro's revolution, between the fifties and eighties.
The first chapter, THE DREAM, describes the origins and first years of the dream, up until the failed Bay of Pigs Invasion. The second chapter, WAKE-UP CALL, opens with the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis and shows growing awareness of the reality of the regime, leading to the mass exodus of Cubans from Mariel Harbour in 1980.
A tiny communist bastion holding out against its giant U.S. neighbour, Cuba long fired the imaginations of many, but the dark sides of Russia's Cold War ally have since come to light.
