Africa on the Move

DISCOVER THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO EMBODY TODAY'S AFRICA

AFRICA ON THE MOVE is a dazzling four-part documentary series that brings to television viewers one of the world's most diverse continents, with stories of both astonishing scope and rare intimacy. It captures the vibrancy of Africa's diverse people and rich cultures and introduces us to men and women who embody the amazing changes occurring on a daily basis where, astonishingly, half the population is only 25 years old.

THE ARTISTS OF CHANGE: In this vibrant episode we meet a reggae star from the Ivory Coast and an actress from Mali who travels from village to village to combat all forms of violence against women.

THE MODERN WARRIOR: More and more people across Africa are streaming toward the continent's cities, hoping to invent new lives in the bustling urban centres. Skyscrapers and slums are the backdrop for an absorbing tale of two clashing worlds.

A DREAM OF MILLIONS: When the tyranny of apartheid officially ended in South Africa in 1991, few predicted what might happen to the country's economy. But now, it has the most powerful economy on the continent and attracts eager investors from around the globe.

A WOMAN'S WORLD: We follow an Egyptian “soccer mom” through poor and middle-class neighbourhoods of Cairo, where she recruits young women as soccer players and potential referees.
