Sturlis

Nineteen short animations by Edouard Sturlis take a wry look at people and some of their faibles.

From a lovesick caveman to a magician who pulls a hydrogen bomb from his hat, Sturlis surprises and delights the viewer with whimsical illustrations and sound effects. Similar characters appear in the often drole vignettes that move from the Swiss Alps to the concert stage : a violin virtuose who has preened for hours makes his debut in the courtyard of a tenement; a hopeless sleepwalker wanders into a rocket bound for the moon, and a stealthy burglar unlocks a gilded cage to free a grateful songbird. These are but a few of Sturlis's three- and four-minute vignettes.
