The Revenge of the Baby Boomers

BIKING THEIR WAY TO BETTER HEALTH

Seven overweight couch potatoes aged 38 to 61 decide to take up a major challenge: get themselves into good enough shape to complete a 300-km cycling marathon in respectable time. The men and women are given 17 weeks to train, under the guidance of professionals from the Montreal and Quebec City heart institutes.

Their flabby bodies have to be completely transformed, and no effort is spared in preparing them for the challenge – from batteries of tests to intensive workouts on stationary bikes and out on the road. Two weeks before the moment of truth, they're tested again to gauge their progress. The results are phenomenal! On race day, each competitor manages to rise to the challenge. But now the hard part begins: staying in shape!
